Journeys Along the Way: Jani’s Journal Series

“I haven’t been everywhere… but it’s definitely on the list.”

Welcome to my favorite corner of the Traveler’s Handbook. A collection of stories about travel, life, and all the places in between.

This is where the checklists take a back seat, the boarding passes become keepsakes, and every destination has a story to tell.

Some of these places I’ve explored myself. Some I’ve come to know inside and out after planning unforgettable vacations for my clients. Others are still waiting patiently on my own bucket list, quietly whispering, “Come see me next.”

Travel has a funny way of changing us. Sometimes it’s a breathtaking mountain view. Sometimes it’s a tiny café tucked down a side street. Sometimes it’s a conversation with a stranger who doesn’t speak your language, yet somehow understands you perfectly.

Those are the moments I want to remember.

You’ll find personal stories from places I’ve visited, destinations I’m researching, travel dreams I’m still chasing, and plenty of honest opinions along the way. If a place made me laugh, surprised me, challenged me, or left me wishing I’d stayed one more day, you’ll probably read about it here.

Some weeks it will be a story from Savannah or Paris. Some weeks it’ll be about emotional baggage, missed connections, or why sleeping late on a Saturday isn’t laziness, it’s finally giving yourself permission to rest. The travel metaphor becomes the doorway, but the destination is always the heart.

My hope is that these pages inspire you to take that trip you’ve been talking about for years. Maybe you’ll discover someplace you never considered. Maybe you’ll recognize a destination that’s been sitting quietly on your own wish list.

Or maybe it will be one those stories that make you think, “oh man, I needed that today!”

Wherever you are in your journey, I’m glad you’re here.

So pour yourself a cup of coffee, settle in for a while, and let’s see where the next road leads.

I’ll save you a seat.

XOXO, Jani
