Spring in Savannah
March through May
Spring is one of Savannah’s most beautiful and most popular seasons. Days are usually comfortable, but temperatures can change quickly between morning and afternoon. Pollen can also be impressive, even for people who do not normally struggle with allergies.

Do not wait until you arrive to think about allergy medicine. If spring pollen bothers you, begin your normal allergy routine before the trip rather than after Savannah has already introduced itself to your sinuses.
Summer in Savannah
June through August
Savannah summers are hot, humid, and often rainy in the afternoon. Pack for heat, but remember that restaurants, museums, and hotels may keep the air conditioning quite cool.

September through November
Early fall can still feel like summer, while late fall brings cooler mornings and evenings. Layers are the easiest way to handle Savannah’s changing autumn weather.

Do not assume October means sweater weather. Savannah may still be warm and humid during the day, especially early in the month.
Winter in Savannah
December through February
Savannah winters are generally mild, but mornings and evenings can be chilly. Cold fronts occasionally bring much cooler temperatures, so layers matter more than heavy winter gear.

Check the forecast again a few days before your trip. Savannah winter weather can range from wonderfully mild to surprisingly cold, sometimes in the same week.

Jani’s Tip
A stroller is helpful, but Savannah’s cobblestones and uneven sidewalks can make some routes challenging. A baby carrier can be a lifesaver in areas where the stroller becomes more trouble than it is worth.

Give older children their own small backpack, but keep it light. A water bottle, snack, light rain poncho, and one activity are plenty. They do not need to carry the entire vacation on their shoulders.
